*Updates to the Scholarships List are regularly emailed to students and parents and copies are available in the Student Services Center and online at the link above. Most applications are online; links are in the list. Paper applications are on file in Student Services (black cabinet, bottom drawer, left side). NMC Regional Financial Aid Information Session– Tuesday, September 25th @ 6pm at Elk Rapids High School in the Auditorium. The 2018-2019 FAFSA opens October 1st. A Northwestern Michigan College event for all area schools. Staff from NMC will help students get to know the financial aid process and become aware of available resources. Find out- “How much will college cost and how will you pay for it?” and “Finding cash for college- a guide to financial aid”. College Night – Thursday, October 11, 2018 6pm-8pm at the NMC Hagerty Center in Traverse City- Over 50 College, Universities, Trade Schools, and Military will be present for high school students and parents/guardians to explore programs and gain more information. College Application Month is October. Some applications to Michigan Colleges are free this month! Mrs. Bueby will be meeting with you to help apply. See the bulletin board for details on participating colleges.
College Goal Sunday at NMC, TBD. NMC Parsons-Stulen Bldg. This is free assistance with FAFSA. Parsons-Stulen Bldg. is located at 2600 Aero Park Dr.
College Night – Charlevoix Middle/High School TBA – Over 40 Colleges, Universities, Trade Schools, and Military will be present for high school students and parents/guardians to explore programs and gain more information.

Visit www.fafsa.ed.gov to fill out the FAFSA form for federal financial aid. Each state has a deadline, and private schools may have earlier deadlines. Check with your college/university. FAFSA forms are available online starting October 1. You must create a FSA ID at this site before beginning the actual FAFSA form. Click on the FSA ID at the top of the page. You can get the FSA ID now, and start the FAFSA form after October 1.
Use the FAFSA4caster to help you understand your options for paying for college- provide some basic information and they’ll estimate your eligibility for federal student aid. Click here: Income Estimator, then click on FAFSA4caster to begin.
